AMALELINGUE’S CODE OF ETHICS
- FOREWORD
Amalelingue is a school that works in the field of language teaching and teacher training. The purpose of this “Code of Ethics” is to officially and organically lay down the set of principles of behavior and the lines of conduct which inspire Amalelingue’s activities.
- SCOPE OF APPLICATION AND ADDRESS
The Code is binding for all persons linked to Amalelingue by working relationship. Such subjects are herein defined as “Recipients”.
- GENERAL PRINCIPLES
3.1 COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS AND REGULATIONS
Amalelingue considers compliance with currently enforced laws and regulations an indispensable principle, whilst at the same time respecting fundamental ethical principles. The school aptly brings this Code to the attention of all and sundry and hereby calls upon Recipients to respect the same. Amalelingue rejects any behavior, even if such behavior should such prove favorable to Amalelingue, which contravenes the law, current regulations or the lines laid down in the Code. Demands not in compliance with the professional dignity and the provisions of this Code cannot be accepted.
3.2 CORRECTNESS AND HONESTY
Amalelingue operates in compliance with professional ethics and internal rules. Loyalty, both in internal and external relations, is considered a priority value. All behavior must be based on loyalty both in relationships among people and towards the school itself. The pursuit of the interest of the school can never justify conducts which are contrary to the principles of fairness and honesty.
3.3 IMPARTIALITY
As to relations with all counterparts, the school avoids any discrimination based on the racial and ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sex, sexuality of its interlocutors.
3.4 MERIT, QUALITY, PROFESSIONALISM, HUMAN RESOURCES AND THE LONG TERM
In choosing and managing its collaborators, Amalelingue gives preference to merit and professionalism. Choices are always quality/price oriented and management choices are always made with an eye to the long term future of the school.
3.5 CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
At Amalelingue we work in the absence of any conflict of interest, be it real or even hypothetical. In addition to regulations as laid down in respect of the law, conflict of interests may also be determined should a subject work towards serving an interest which runs against the interests of the school.
3.6 TRANSPARENCY AND COMPLETENESS OF INFORMATION
The information provided by Amalelingue is truthful, complete, transparent and comprehensible, so as to allow recipients to make informed decisions with regard to any relationship to be undertaken with the school.
3.7 DILIGENCE AND GOOD FAITH
Each collaborator must act loyally and in good faith, respecting the obligations contractually signed and ensuring the required performances. She/he must also know and observe the content of this Code of Ethics, basing her/his conduct on respect, cooperation and mutual collaboration.
3.8 CONFIDENTIALITY
The behavior of the Recipients is to be based on confidentiality and, therefore, any Recipient must refrain from spreading news re facts or behavior pertaining to the school or relating to the privacy sphere of people in any way linked to the school.
- SAFEGUARDING OF HEALTH, SECURITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
4.1 DIGNITY, HEALTH AND OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY
The Recipients of this Code contribute to the process of prevention of risks and safeguarding of health and occupational safety, without prejudice to individual responsibilities in accordance with applicable legislation. Recipients must guarantee their contribution to an atmosphere of mutual respect for the dignity, honor and reputation of each and every individual.
4.2 ENVIRONMENT
Amalelingue promotes a policy which is in full awareness of socio-environmental problems and to surroundings. Amalelingue is, thus, active in: technological updating to ensure, where possible, the reduction of polluting agents and the recovery/reuse of raw materials, in compliance with outlay requirements.
- INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION MANAGEMENT
5.1 USE AND STORAGE OF INFORMATION
Each Recipient must assume complete confidentially concerning any information and data acquired carrying out her/his activities at Amalelingue.
Amalelingue undertakes to safeguard the confidentiality of all information of any nature or content acquired carrying out its activities, avoiding any improper use of such information.
5.2 USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
All data and information in the information systems of the school or at its disposal, including e-mails and social networks, should be used exclusively while carrying out the school’s activities in the manner and within the limits indicated.
These data consist of any information which directly or indirectly identifies a person and may include sensitive data, such as those relevant to her/his ethnic or racial origin, political orientation, health status or sexual orientation.
In full compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003, “Code regarding the protection of personal data” (“Privacy Code”),
Amalelingue undertakes to protect personal data acquired, stored and processed within the scope of its activity
- RELATIONS WITH THE RECIPIENTS OF THE CODE
6.1 RELATIONSHIPS WITH COLLABORATORS
The collaborators must comply with the principles of safeguarding of and respect for the individual being, loyalty, dignity, morality, correctness in personal relationships, integration and collaboration, sense of responsibility and respect. Amalelingue constantly informs its collaborators about school guidelines through the most appropriate channel of information.
The selection of collaborators is based on candidate profile forwarding, with projected outcome, and on the requirements of the school in respect of equal opportunities for all subjects involved. The requested information is strictly linked to the verification of the aspects envisaged by the professional and psycho-aptitude profile, respecting the individual’s privacy and the opinions of the candidate.
When the collaboration relationship is established, the person will receive accurate information regarding: characteristics of the function and tasks to be performed, legal and remuneration aspects, rules and procedures to be adopted. This information is submitted to the person in such a way that the acceptance of the assignment is based on an effective understanding of relevant content.
6.2 RELATIONSHIPS WITH STUDENTS
Collaborators must adopt guidelines aimed at satisfying the professional requirements of the students, with the aim of consolidating the relationship in compliance with current legislation. Behavior towards students must be based on the principle of competitiveness.
As to the students, Amalelingue undertakes not to arbitrarily discriminate against its customers.
Any communication to the students pertaining to fees, timetables and any other information regarding courses and seminars must be:
– clear and simple, formulated with a language as close as possible to the language normally used by the interlocutors;
– compliant with current regulations, so as not to resemble practices that are elusive or otherwise incorrect;
– complete so as , hence, not to neglect any relevant element for the purpose of the decision of the participants.
6.3 RELATIONSHIP WITH SUPPLIERS
Amalelingue chooses its suppliers in compliance with the principles of transparency, impartiality and fairness, verifying the actual technical and professional competence and the appropriate means and tools to deal with the requested service.
6.4 RELATIONS WITH COMPETITORS
Amalelingue safeguards the value of fair competition by refraining from any collusive and predatory behavior. The school prohibits the acquisition of information through improper channels, committing itself not to choose collaborators of a competitor to obtain confidential information or to encourage competitors’ collaborators to disclose confidential information. The school holds conduct conducive to corruption amongst private concerns to be harmful to the practice of loyalty.
6.5 RELATIONSHIP WITH PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS
Amalelingue’s relations with public institutions or officials and with private institutions fulfilling public functions are founded on the full respect of laws and regulations, with regard to the public nature of the function.
Recipients must not pursue, either for themselves or for Amalelingue or for third parties, any type of profit (by artifice or deception) which is to the detriment of public institutions. Amalelingue, therefore, demands that the Recipients must not under any circumstances: • procure for Amalelingue public contributions or funds, through the use of documents or the omission of due information; • use for Amalelingue contributions, grants or loans for purposes other than those for which they were conferred. As to any fact relating to crime, the Recipients must inform the Management forthwith, thus permitting immediate reporting of such to the interested Judicial Authority (see No. 3.1)
- DISCLOSURE OF THE CODE
This Code has been approved by the Amalelingue Management. In keeping with Legislative Decree no. 231/01, the school undertakes to impart the contents of this Code to all Recipients and to make the same available on the Amalelingue website.
